Online Resources

Northlands College has partnered with other Saskatchewan learning centres to bring quality education and career options to northern communities. Online learning resources and career assistance websites will connect students to new opportunities.

Edcentre.ca

Edcentre.ca Online School is officially registered with Saskatchewan Education in partnership with Northern Lights School Division and Northlands College.

Through this initiative, northern residents have an opportunity to continue their education where other avenues have been unavailable or unable to meet individual needs. Many applicants are young adults who have young children and are staying at home. Others have been working and following other pursuits. This online format offers students the flexibility to plan their own personal program and schedule.

Many students have access to support in their home communities and all students are able to contact teachers for additional live online support through web conference sessions.

Students are accepted on a continuous enrolment basis from August to March 30 each school year. The students choose their courses and work on a personal development plan for areas such as study skills and career goals.

Enrolled students participate in courses of study based on curriculum guidelines set by the Province of Saskatchewan.

Technology Enhanced Learning

The University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Polytechnic are pleased to present an expanding array of courses and programs using on-line and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) options. These distance opportunities are intended to improve and enhance student participation in post-secondary education.

Northlands College provides computer and internet access at each of the Program Centres in Buffalo Narrows, Creighton and La Ronge. Through these TEL Access Centres, students, employers, and community members can improve their computer skills or take on-line courses. An expanding array of credit and non-credit courses are available. As well, each centre offers free learner support through tutorials, workshops and counselling.

TEL Access Centers are now open in Buffalo Narrows, Creighton and La Ronge. Access Centers include computer access for on-line learning, support workshops and career counseling.
