The Distance Education Instructor Aide will work in a learning centre environment to provide adults registered in distance education modes of post-secondary subjects with educational support.  This support will include assisting students with all their learning needs, promoting a positive learning environment, monitoring a computer lab, maintaining building and equipment security, promoting distance education learning skills, promoting distance education opportunities, and working as part of a team dedicated to increasing student retention and success, as well as other duties as assigned.
 
Additional duties include classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
 
The minimal qualifications for this position are a relevant two year post-secondary diploma, however applicants with a relevant University degree will be given preference; strong computer skills; recent/relevant experience in distance education; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and experience working with adults in a cross-cultural learning environment is an asset.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

We are currently recruiting for a Health Instructor who will work as a team dedicated to the success of students who are pursuing their Diploma and/or their Bachelor Degree. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Adult Essential Skills Level 1 & 2 Instructor will provide instruction and tutorial support to adult registered in the program. Areas of instruction include math, reading, Science, Communications, Computer Essential Skills, Work, Life and 21st Century Skills. Additional areas of responsibility will include delivery and management of a Blended Learning model incorporating face-to-face instruction, online competency based learning, and targeted intervention.

The minimal qualifications for this position are: Bachelor of Education Degree, Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate and a Special Education Teacher Designation. Knowledge of and training in Adult Education principles and practices, and proven ability to facilitate adult learners is also required. The preferred candidate will have working knowledge of the Adult Basic Education levels and the associated learning outcomes, as well as instructional experiences in a cross-cultural adult educational setting. A solid foundation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Technology in the Classroom is required. Strong planning, organizational and classroom management skills are essential. Familiarity with blended learning principles and PLATO Learning Environment is desirable. Working knowledge of the Circle of Learning benchmarks, and Ministry of Economy, Adult Education Principles is also recommended.
