Continuing Care Assistant

Accreditation: Saskatchewan Polytechnic  FQFA

This one-year Continuing Care Assistant certificate program combines hands-on classroom learning with practical clinical experience to prepare students for work in a variety of health care environments.

Graduates may find employment in long-term care, home care, assisted living, acute care, or special needs classrooms assisting clients with mobility, personal care, eating, and medication monitoring.

Applicants must be proficient in the English language and should have personal and physical suitability for work in the health care industry.

Accepted applicants will be required to provide:
• evidence of a Vulnerable Sector Check
• immunization records

Student will participate in three clinical work placements which may involve shift work, travel and overnight stays.
