Career Resource Centres focus on the following areas:
- Career and Academic Counseling
In order to plan education programming and career decisions, you need to consider how your education fits into your life. Our counseling staff will work with you to assess your vocational interests and other areas related to career decisions. This process will help identify training paths that are related to your career goal.
The Career Resource Centers, situated in the program centres, are equipped with a variety of resources: education calendars, application forms, occupational information, job search, study skills and various career exploration tools.
- Personal Counseling
As a student, you may encounter personal problems that make concentrating on your studies difficult. Counselors and student advisors can help you work through these difficulties and keep you on the path to success. Career Services staff have a network of contacts with other northern agencies and can make referrals if you feel you need more support.
- Funding Arrangements an Financial Advice
Career Services staff are available to discuss funding arrangements to help you pay for school. They can help identify funding programs for which you may be eligible, to make contact with funding agencies and to make applications for funding.
