Bachelor of Education

Elementary/Middle Years

This four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree is designed for those who want to teach students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. The curriculum offers a general approach to various subjects to provide a wide exposure to the subjects and teaching methods you will use in elementary and middle years classrooms.

Full- and part-time studies available.

Applicants must be proficient in the English language.

Students must complete four field practicums in Years 2 – 4. Whenever possible, students are placed within their home community.

*Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Checks may be required for clinical placements.

Entrance requirements: Grade 12 diploma with overall average of 70% in core subjects. Must have Math: Foundations 30 or Pre-calculus 30; one 30-level language other than English or a Fine/Performing Art; and one of: Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, Earth Science 30, or Computer Science 30.
 * Admission with a deficiency may be possible; please consult a student advisor.

Start dates: September 2019

Number of weeks: 42 per year

Tuition: $8,000/year
Books: $1,200/year
