Bachelor of Social Work

Graduates of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program may find careers in family counselling, mental health and addictions, child welfare, healthcare, criminal justice, community development, activism, and advocacy.

Full- and part-time studies available.

Applicants must be proficient in the English language.

Pre-Social Work (Year 1)
Students must complete 30 credit units of required and elective courses with a minimum average of 70%.

Bachelor of Social Work (Years 2 - 4)
Upon completion of the Pre-Social Work program, students will be eligible to apply to the Faculty of Social Work. Admission to the Faculty is competitive across the province; seats are limited.

Students must complete two practicums. Whenever possible, students are placed within their home community.

*Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Checks may be required for practicum placements.

Locations: Buffalo Narrows, Creighton, Ile a la Crosse, La Loche, and La Ronge
Application Deadlines:
Early-Bird: April 30, 2019 *To be considered for entrance scholarships.
Fall Intake: July 15, 2019
Winter Intake: November 15, 2019

Entrance requirements: Grade 12 diploma with overall average of 70% in core subjects. Must have the following high school courses: one approved math or science; one approved 30-level language, social science, or fine arts; and one additional approved 30-level course.

Books: $1,200/year
