This one-year certificate program provides the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of child care settings. Students will develop an understanding of child development, establishing safe and stimulating environments, and the importance of play in learning.
Graduates of this program may find employment in licensed child care centers, schools, family daycares, and private homes.
At the end of each semester, students will participate in a (four-week; six-week) practicum. Whenever possible, students are placed with local agencies; however, travel and overnight stays may be required depending on availability of employers.
