Powerline Technician Fundamentals

Accreditation: Industry / Northlands College

This program is designed to take any committed individual and train them the basic skillsets and fundamentals that will enable them to become a successful Power Lineman. This program is 9 weeks in duration and is comprised of the following:  2 weeks’ physical fitness, 1 week climbing boot camp, and 6 weeks of skill training.

This training will include:

  • Basic safety ticket training
  • Orientation to backhoe, bucket-truck, skid-steer & related equipment
  • Basic pole climbing technique
  • Lineman Tools & usage
  • Intro to basic electricity
  • Trade knowledge – cabling, wiring etc.
